While working with AARP’s social team, I focused on designing content for their Caregiving Instagram and other social platforms to help promote key campaigns and initiatives. I created visuals that were both eye-catching and informative, aiming to connect with caregivers and a broader audience in a way that felt personal and supportive. I had to be thoughtful with design and tone to make sure we stayed true to AARP’s mission while still engaging a wide and diverse audience.

A key part of my work involved creating advocacy-driven social content that spoke to the challenges caregivers faced, especially during the Trump presidency. This included designing posts that raised awareness around policy changes, healthcare concerns, and support resources—always with a focus on staying clear, respectful, and nonpartisan. I worked closely with the social team to develop content that was timely and relevant, helping AARP respond quickly to national conversations while keeping the needs of caregivers front and center. The goal was to inform and empower the audience without alienating anyone, which required a careful balance of tone, messaging, and design.

I also created short-form videos using Canva to support AARP’s social campaigns. These videos were designed to be simple, engaging, and easy to digest. Whether highlighting quick tips for caregivers or promoting key advocacy messages, the videos helped break down complex information into visual stories that were accessible and shareable.

Print Design

In addition to digital content, I designed multiple print documents for AARP. One key example was a piece outlining AARP’s core issue areas. For this project, I focused on creating a layout that was both visually engaging and easy to follow. I developed a system of unique yet consistent headers to give each issue area its own identity while keeping the overall design cohesive. This approach helped state chapters organize complex information in a way that felt approachable, polished, and aligned with AARP’s brand standards.
